The road which led Alexia Haidos to the co founding of Double A LLC Public Relations & Marketing has been chock-full of unexpected twists and turns. Translating a University of Southern California degree in Entrepreneurship into the launch of Smart Heart Cookie, Haidos found herself the proprietress of one of the world's first no-cholesterol food companies. Based on a recipe created by her grandmother (YiaYia was featured in the Los Angeles Times Food Section April 1, 2009), these heart-shaped biscuits were snapped up by Bristol Farms, Gelson's, Macy's, Nordstrom's, and other of the country's top purveyors of comestibles, and enjoyed by unsuspecting and delighted travelers on United Airlines and Horizon Air. Haidos soon found herself running multiple divisions of her company, including that of marketing and public relations.

"They do have a certain addictive charm that makes it very hard to eat just one," wrote Ruth Reichl of the Los Angeles Times. The cookies flew off the shelves in the City of Angels as Haidos discovered the magic of publicity. However, over time "no fat" began to overshadow "no cholesterol." Offers to purchase the company's top-secret recipe seemed less than savory. Haidos found herself at a fork in the road.

She dug into Bikini A Go Go, marking Haidos' launch of Restaurant Bikini's successful box lunch delivery program. The boxed feasts fast became an industry must, winning raves at the 1993 Grammy Awards. Figurative painter Muramasa Kudo, one of Restaurant Bikini's investors, recommended to Haidos that she explore a career in public relations and marketing. He immediately hired her to represent him and his studio. And so it was that Alexia Haidos Public Relations and Marketing was born.

During the launch campaign for THE BIG ISSUE, Haidos met and collaborated with Alison Deknatel. Their dynamic synergy led to the formation of Double A Public Relations & Marketing. Haidos has been running the company since 2004 with Deknatel acting as a consulting partner.

Alexia has brought a fresh approach to the garnering of publicity and achieved exceptional levels of visibility for Rivera Restaurant, The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, Shade Hotel, Verana Hotel, The American Film Institute's Directing Workshop for Women, Soolip Paperie & Press, Petros Greek Cuisine & Lounge, St. Sophia's LA Greek Festival, The Farmer's Daughter Hotel, the International Documentary Association, The Tale of Genji for Pioneer Electronics, and many others.

Haidos is producing and directing A Taxi Odyssey, a feature length documentary about the infamous taxi drivers of Athens, Greece who were sent to government mandated charm school to learn better manners. The film is currently in post-production. She also sits on the board of the Center for Cultural Innovation.
